BEAUTIFUL NYC WEDNESDAY CHANGES COMING – Good morning everyone and welcome back to the atypical late January weather. It will be short-lived, so go outside and enjoy it while it lasts. Today, the sunshine is abound and with that, we should reach 50 as promised if we did get this amount of sun. Clouds will increase tonight as a warm front starts to head our way, bringing with it a slight chance of some light rain, and lows only getting down to the mid 40’s. Tomorrow, there will be a break in any rain we do get, and then another shot of rain before early afternoon as the cold front transits the area, highs in the low 50’s.
Things will clear out for Thursday night and this is when the cold air begins to enter the NYC area. Lows Thursday night will be in the mid 30’s, but feel colder due to blustery conditions. Friday, we start our gradual decline, from the low 40’s, then slipping into the upper 30’s to near 40 Saturday through Tuesday, and dry/sunny conditions.
The pattern will remain quiet and seasonably cold for this period, then we start to get active again system-wise. How much cold air remains in place and the paths of these systems, will determine if we can squeeze out some snow or if we snap back into this mild and rainy pattern we’ve seen through the winter so far.
Monday’s big storm remains in our satellite frame, but we have sun in the area for a beautiful day.
