BEAUTIFUL SUNNY NYC SUNDAY CLOUDS INCREASE LATE – Good morning everyone! If you’re up and looking outside as we speak, the sun is shining bright and you’re enjoying a beautiful morning with low humidity. A thin veil of clouds will move in later on this afternoon, then lower and thicken overnight. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 60’s in most places, and the air will have a cool feel to it with a southeast breeze.
It’ll remain dry for most of the night, but a few showers could move in before sunrise tomorrow. The cool, southeast wind will continue tomorrow with the help of a stretched out system from the southeast states all the way into Canada. We’ll have scattered showers and maybe even a few rumbles of thunder tomorrow, highs in the mid 60’s. Rain continues into the evening tomorrow before we have some partial clearing, giving way to sun and clouds for Tuesday.
As I said in my previous forecasts, with the help of some sun, we can attain the 70’s, but if clouds remain, 60’s will be the theme. With some peeks of sun on Tuesday, we will be around normal with highs in the low 70’s. Unfortunately, it looks as if clouds and widely scattered shows will move back in for Wednesday. It doesn’t look like we’re looking at any rainouts, but the threat of some rain is there. In between the raindrops and a few peeks of sun, we could reach the low 70’s again, but upper 60’s if the clouds win out. It’ll be the same story for Thursday, but we have a better shot at some rain. Again, no rainouts, but nuisance clouds and rain drops.
For the holiday weekend, it looks as if for now we clear things about. That being said, temperatures are a big question mark. Warm air looks to try and head in, but it’ll all come down to where high pressure drifts in the area. It’s quite possible we remain sunny and dry, but a southeasterly fetch might keep temps near normal for the end of May and in the low to mid 70’s.

This is the same system that brought severe weather to the midwest, but nothing like that is expected here, just some scattered showers and maybe a few rumbles of thunder.
