Beautiful Weekend Today Weekend Cautious Approach Remains

Good morning folks. We have a beautiful Wednesday unfolding here as a brief drying-out process begins. The next couple of days aren’t looking like disasters, but the weekend has some warmth questions, which I warned about yesterday.

EASTERN SATELLITE

Today is gorgeous and seasonably cool as that system finally pulls away from the area. We’ll have highs in the mid 60’s and a steady, northwesterly flow.

We still have a piece of energy coming down from the Great Lakes region tomorrow, possibly touching off a couple of afternoon showers. However, a lighter northwesterly flow will help get us into the upper 60’s to low 70’s with sun and clouds.

On Friday, we start dealing with the easternmost daisy chain of our system way out west. This will drop a cold front through with most of the energy going well off into Canada. We’ll be ahead of the cold front for most of the day and no washouts are expected, but we could see some showers and maybe even a few rumbles of thunder in the afternoon. Highs Friday 70-75 with a warmer, southerly flow.

The weekend remains an issue as far as how warm we go. Yesterday, I stated that our forecast was holding, but fragile due some warm front issues and maritime air that may fight back. We’re still looking dry and Saturday remains the clearest accuracy-wise, with sun and clouds, highs 70-75.

Sunday has the biggest issues. Does Friday’s cold front, which is coming back as a warm front, able to clear the area? I don’t think we have any rain or gloom issues for Sunday, but at this point, we could be in the upper 60’s, or we could touch 80. So for now I’m going to hold off on calling the ball for Sunday until we get a better idea. I know some outlets are already talking big numbers, or even cool numbers. I’m going to hang back and would rather be right than first.

To start next week, the main part of our system passes through with little fanfare as most of the energy again goes well into Canada. We’ll have the chance of some showers, it’ll be humid, and highs somewhere in the 70’s depending on the sunshine factor.

We’ll slowly clear out on Tuesday, and with not much cool air behind the system, a light westerly or northwesterly flow could give us a fairly warm day with 75-80 degree temps possible.

We’ll be keeping an eye on all of it. Our pattern is changing somewhat, but overall it’s still looking very active and fast-paced. The chance of a true, dry, 3-5 day stretch…is a stretch right now.
