CLOUDS GIVE WAY TO SUNNY HUMID COOLER NYC – Good morning everyone! After a quick, early morning shot of a few scattered heavy showers, clouds are starting to break up as the back door cold front transits the NYC area. Today will be normal temperature-wise (near 80) as the cooler air lags behind the passage of the front, but humidity will be high, so it’ll feel somewhat uncomfortable for those who don’t like the humidity.
Tomorrow, we cool off into the upper 60’s to low 70’s with partly cloudy skies and a southeasterly breeze making things feel even cooler. Clouds build back in Thursday night as a weak system enters the area to give us the chance of some widely scattered showers and storms for Friday. We’ll keep temps below normal while they struggle to get past the upper 60’s with cloudy skies all day.
Warm air tries to fight back for the weekend, and we could see temps in the low 80’s and humid conditions for Saturday if we can squeeze out some sun, otherwise we’re looking at upper 70’s. The chance of some scattered showers and storms will be with us all weekend, but no rainouts are expected so don’t cancel your plans. We rise into the mid 80’s for Sunday, once again humid, and it looks as if this type of weather/temperatures continue all the way into next weekend.
In the long range, it looks like we could see another front dip in towards the end of the month to make for a cool end to June before warm weather once again tries to push back in for early July.
