SEASONABLY WARM NYC DAY PRECEDES RAINY FRIDAY AFTERNOON – Good morning folks! The coolest of air never fully made its way down into the area, allowing for a seasonably warm day today, with sun and clouds, highs in the upper 70’s to near 80. Because this cooler, dryer air didn’t make a big push, it will allow tomorrow’s system become a little more vigorous.
East winds and clouds will keep things cool tomorrow as expected, but steady rain is possible in the afternoon as opposed to the previously forecasted widely scattered rain. Most of the energy will most likely go to our north, but a couple of spokes of steady rain could reach down into our area. This chance of rain, as well as areas of fog, will persist until very early Saturday morning.
On Saturday, warm air fights back hard. We’ll have morning clouds, chance of some morning rain, then clouds and sun with some popcorn variety showers and storms; highs in the low 80’s and humid. For Father’s Day, the heat is on again, with humid conditions, chance of a shower or storm, and highs in the mid to upper 80’s; possibly 90 in some spots.
Warm and humid weather looks to persist into next week and summer will come into the picture seasonably normal.
