Heavy Storms Transiting NYC Long Island Area
Good afternoon everyone. we have a thin line of heavy showers and storms moving through the area as we speak. Some of those storms may contain small hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and torrential rain. We could also see some ponding on the roads and minor flooding in flood-prone spots. After this round, we have a few lagging scattered showers and storms behind it, then we’ll begin to dry out a bit. That being said, we have the risk of storms tomorrow through Friday similar to what we’re seeing today; with Friday having the biggest risk of more organized severe weather.
SATELLITE
After this line of storms, we will cool off temporarily as other scattered showers and storms lurk around. Most of the secondary action will be to our north and west, but 1 or 2 could sneak in. We’ll have highs in the mid 80’s today since the storms knocked us down a bit temp-wise.
Expect sun and clouds tomorrow with another chance of showers and storms, most of the action will be scattered in variety. Highs 85-90 and humid.
WEATHER RADAR
We’ll do sun and clouds, humid 85-90, and the chance of PM storms for both Thursday and Friday. Again, Friday has the largest risk of some more widespread severe weather.
Our weekend actually looks nice for a change, with slightly lower humidity, highs in the mid 80’s, and we might get through each day without a shower or storm.
