JUNE NYC LONG RANGE FORECAST – Good morning everyone! If you feel any of the same sentiments as I, you are tired of the gloom that has plagued us all spring. Unfortunately, these systems have been stubborn to fully clear on out and things remain to look as if it’ll be status quo.
Clouds and cool weather stick around today. We’ll have a slight chance of showers and highs will only be in the low to mid 60’s. Tomorrow, soupier air moves in with morning fog, sun and clouds in the afternoon, and a chance of a shower or thunderstorm; highs in the low to mid 70’s if the fog can clear out in a timely fashion. Thursday and Friday look to be the best days of the week if everything can hold together. Thursday looks to be dry and sunny, highs in the mid 70’s, and Friday will be more humid and highs 75-80 with the chance of a few afternoon storms.
For next weekend, we should have 1 more mild day on Saturday, but clouds return and the chance of a few showers, highs in the mid 70’s. Clouds continue to stick around temperatures begin to slide backwards and into the upper 60’s to low 70’s for Sunday, then 60’s and showers possible for Monday.
In the long range, this theme of slow moving systems and more cool to seasonable temps as opposed to well above normal temps, continues. Our big chance for a summery breakout comes mid-June, but we still have to wait and see how far north and east the warm air can get as the system parade continues. As of now, we are stuck in this pattern of several cool/normal days and only 1-2 mild/warm days before returning back to reality. Hopefully we can turn things around in 10-15 days.
