MISERABLE NYC SPRING SUNDAY ACTIVE PATTERN CONTINUES
MISERABLE NYC SPRING SUNDAY ACTIVE PATTERN CONTINUES – Happy Sunday everyone!…..or is it. Dreary and cold weather has moved back over us from New England and we are in the schmutz all day and night as we await our cold front for some salvation.
Look for a cold, windy, raw, and cloudy day today, with highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. Some light rain is possible in the afternoon as warm air tries to fight back, but won’t be in the form of a sunny and warm day tomorrow. Temps will rise through the 40’s overnight and it’ll be cloudy, gusty, and rainy as we head towards sunrise.
Tomorrow, we deal with our cold front swinging through. Expect rain, heavy at times, the chance of some rumbles of thunder, and highs 55-60. Keep in mind that even though we’re not under any flood watches, localized flooding is possible at times of heavy rain in poor drainage areas and typical, flood prone locales on highways and local streets. Minor coastal flooding is also possible at times of high tide due to the prolonged, east/southeasterly fetch of gusty winds.
We begin to slowly clear out Tuesday, but it’ll remain windy and cool; highs in the low to mid 50’s. For the rest of the week, we’ll remain sunny and winds will calm down. Look for highs just a slight notch below normal and in the upper 50’s. Highs this time of year should be around 60.
An active pattern remains for the next couple of weeks, with systems racing across the lower 48. Towards the end of the month, another brief warmup is possible, but it’s system related and we remain slightly below normal for the most part into early May.
