MOTHERS DAY FRONT WINS FOLLOWING WEEK RIDGE DOES NOT
MOTHERS DAY FRONT WINS FOLLOWING WEEK RIDGE DOES NOT – Good morning everyone. For the past several weeks, all signs pointed towards a big, mid-May period of summer weather. Suddenly, things are looking a little more volatile and not as warm.
First, our spring weather continues today and the trees will continue to get a lot of help in terms of catching up. Look for sunny skies and low to mid 70’s until the seabreeze kicks in. Tomorrow, we’ll have clouds and sun, chance of a shower or storm, highs in the low to mid 70’s once again. Friday remains the same, with sunny skies, breezy conditions, and 65-70 in most places.
Saturday is now officially the warmest day of the weekend, with clouds and sun, a slight chance of a few showers, and highs in the low to mid 70’s. We could see a few upper 70’s depending on how much sun we get. That back door cold front nears the area overnight on Saturday, then begins to push though on Sunday. Mother’s Day looks to be mostly cloudy, a chance of a few showers, and highs in the upper 60’s to low 70s.
Now the rub. Originally, this front wasn’t looking to clear very far if it did pass, but it passes through on Sunday and the pushback is weak for Monday. It’ll be nice and still above average, but replace near 80 with low to mid 70’s as of now. Things will try to push back on Tuesday, with upper 70’s possible if we can get things going, then maybe a few 80’s on Wednesday before we cool down again.
That semi-Maritime push wants to remain in the picture for the next 10-15 days, so as of this moment, our ridge doesn’t look as strong. Through this period, we could see some wild swings, with temps mostly slightly above average and in the 70’s, to some 60’s and 80’s dotting the forecast.
