NYC Active Pattern Brewing Again

NYC Active Pattern Brewing Again

Good late morning everyone. We have some clouds this morning that’ll clear out as the day goes on, giving way to modifying temps and a more comfortable workweek. Meanwhile, we have a more active pattern brewing after this quiet, dry, and milder period.

Look for some blue patches this afternoon with today being the first chance we’re above freezing since last Friday morning. Expect low to mid 30’s, then mid 20’s overnight.

Sunshine will be with us all day tomorrow, with temps in the 40-45 range; then we may not drop below freezing overnight (at least in NYC), with mid 30’s as lows expected.

WEATHER RADAR

Thursday is another late December winner, with more sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 40’s. We’ll hang onto comfortable conditions, with near 50 temps and sunshine Friday.

Saturday is when things take a turn, although it’ll be fairly mild New Year’s. Look for increasing clouds and the chance of some PM Showers. Highs will be in the 50-55 range. For the ball drop at Times Sq., we should be somewhere in the mid 40’s.

New Year’s Day continues to look like a mild and rainy one, with more 50-55 degree temps and some on & off rain.

In the long range, we don’t end things with that system for New Year’s. We’ll be watching our systems slamming the West Coast, leftover moisture along the Gulf, and colder air trying to head back in via the Upper Plains. If timed and pathed right, we could see some snow in the area in the next couple of weeks, or at minimum, some very close calls.
