NYC Quiet Week Cloudy Mild New Year’s
Good morning everyone. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday between Christmas & Hanukkah happening at the same time. We’re into our final week of 2022 and it’s looking like a very quiet one. Temps will modify and the biting cold will settle down over the next 24hrs, while our next system will be knocking on our door for New Year’s.
SATELLITE
Today we’ll have some clouds enter the picture after a sunny morning. It’ll be meaningless, but it does represent modifying air and better things for us down the road. Look for highs in the low 30’s, then mid 20’s overnight.
Sunshine returns tomorrow with mid to upper 30’s, then tomorrow night we might not dip below freezing as some areas will see low 30’s for lows.
WEATHER RADAR
Wednesday is a winner with low to mid 40’s, but we go a bit colder overnight with 20’s returning. Expect more sunshine and mid 40’s for Thursday, then we pop up to near 50 on Friday.
For your New Year’s weekend, we’ll cloud up on Saturday as our next system approaches. We’ll watch closely to see the timing of any showers, but they may hold on till late evening or overnight. Obviously that may impact revelers out in Times Square, but with highs in the low to mid 50’s and lows overnight in the 40’s, it’s not as what it could be. Sunday is looking iffy right now, so we’ll say AM showers then cloudy of the rest of the day with upper 40’s to low 50’s. This may change depending on if we can’t the system out of here quick enough, or it lags with a wave of low pressure and some extra rain.
In the long range, I think we hold onto milder air for a few extra days, but the cold is gathering up again and we may see another shot by the 2nd week of January. We’ll also be watching our systems very closely, because if anything during the span of January 9-15th hooks up with that cold push, we could see an opportunity for some snow…..MAYBE.
