NYC Brief Relief Likely Before Heat Returns

Good morning everyone. We remain in the heat today and tomorrow before a front swings by and hands us some relief later on Sunday through Tuesday. However, the big story is not the next 2 days of hot conditions, it’s the prospect of an above average June temperature-wise. We’ll break it all down for you below.

SATELLITE

Look for sunshine and more light westerlies today. While it looked as if we would be more muggy today, those westerly winds will help keep things on the relatively dry side of things. Look for dew points in the 50’s today, with temps reaching the 90-95 degree range for a hot day.

WEATHER RADAR

We keep the heat going tomorrow with more 90-95 degree temps, and I promise you it’ll be more humid tomorrow as that front nears. Showers will head in overnight through early Sunday; and the earlier timing on the front will mean some PM sun and comfortably warm conditions for Sunday. Look for highs in the 80-85 degree range.

Monday and Tuesday are an early workweek treat, with full sunshine, dry conditions, and highs in the 80-85 degree range. After that, all bets are off as near 90 temps and more humid conditions return. In the long range, a recurring pattern wants to forge onward; with slow moving fronts draped across the Ohio River Valley and high pressure setting up to our ESE. If this pans out, this will equate to above average temps for June, and plenty of attempts at 90º ahead before we even get into deep summer.
