NYC Clearing & Breezy Today Cool Air Arrives Friday
Good late morning everyone. Our strong cold front has blown through and brought with it some much needed rain. Now we are in the partial clearing and breezy phase, but temps remain somewhat mild for the next couple of days. Then. much cooler air makes it presence known towards Friday and the weekend.
SATELLITE
Expect puffy low clouds mixed with sunshine for the rest of the day today. It’ll be breezy and on the mild side considering a strong cold front just went through. Look for highs in the 70-75 range today, then mid to upper 50’s overnight for a comfortable, early fall night.
REGIONAL RADAR
We’ll start off on the cool and breezy side early tomorrow morning for the school drop-off, but it’ll be dry as well. Sunshine will be with us for much of the day, then maybe some increasing clouds very late. Highs in the mid to upper 70’s under SW winds.
The reason for the wind shift and the mild temps, is the reinforcing shot of cooler air coming in overnight Thursday and into Friday. That’ll spark off a few showers overnight Thursday into Friday AM, and highs Friday will only make it to the mid to upper 60 range. Friday night looks to be the chilliest of the airmass, with lows in the mid to upper 40’s in the City, and upper 30’s to low/mid 40’s away from the heat island.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Your weekend is looking like a perfect one to start the October season, and both days look sunny and dry, seasonably cool, with highs in the mid 60’s.
Clouds increase late Sunday night, and we may see a few showers to start next week with more reinforcing shots of cool air coming in.
