NYC Cold Front Moves Through Today
Good morning everyone. We have a cold front approaching the area today, and some quick moving showers are already starting to enter the picture for parts of NYC. Today’s passage will mean a pleasant day tomorrow, then we slowly warm up and gradually turn hot by the end of the week.
SATELLITE
For today, clouds are already in and showers are already popping up on the radar. We’ll have on and off heavy showers with maybe a few gusty rumbles, especially in the afternoon. Temps won’t rise much today, and we’ll hang out in the mid to upper 70’s.
Sunshine and very dry conditions return tomorrow. Light northerlies will help keep us around 80 for a perfect late June day.
WEATHER RADAR
Things will slowly warm up, and sunshine stays in the forecast for the rest of the week. We’ll have mid 80’s on Wednesday, 85-90 on Thursday, then near 90/low 90’s on Friday for a hot one.
The weekend looks like a split, with Sunshine and near 90 temps for Saturday, then our next system may bring some rain on Sunday w/ 80’s.
This is where our July 4th forecast gets tricky and we will have to watch for stalled moisture on the east coast; something we talked about in last week’s long range. We may have just enough clearing to eek out a decent day for July 4th, or clouds and spotty showers might stick around.
Let’s hope high pressure drifts far enough south to keep everything in southern NJ or the mid-Atlantic. We’ll be watching it as we get closer.
