NYC Cool Conditions Spin In & Out of Area For Mostly Cool April Half

Good afternoon everyone. As expected, low pressure is hanging off to our east and while far enough away from the clouds, stiff winds are making it feel cooler than it is. This is going to be the problem over the course of the next couple of weeks, which is getting these systems out of here in a timely manner. There will be days where 60’s are possible, but we will be on the cool side for the most part.

For today, sunshine remains as does that stiff NW flow. Temps are in the low 60’s for the most part, and we should squeeze a few more degrees out of the sunshine today for mid to upper 60’s. The same will go for tomorrow, but the winds should go from blustery to steady and a little lighter. Look for mid to upper 60’s throughout the area.

Sunshine continues for Wednesday, and that’ll be our nicest day wind-wise. Expect light winds and mid 60’s for a slightly warmer feel. Clouds begin to creep in on Thursday, but we’ll remain dry. Temps will sink a bit into the low 60’s.

Those clouds are associated with our next slow moving low pressure system. This one will bring in more clouds, the slight chance of showers Fri-Sun, and mid to upper 50’s all 3 days. The best chance for rain may be Sunday night into Monday IF a wave of energy forms around the bigger/weaker low spinning around.

Overall, the pattern looks mostly cool with a few milder spots. When Monday’s potential system departs, it’ll open up the door for some milder air before cooler and cloudier conditions return. Overall, we’re off to a slow start this spring, but nothing extreme in either direction.
