NYC Dramatic Temperature Change Expected Tomorrow

NYC Dramatic Temperature Change Expected Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. We’ve been talking about this event for almost two weeks now, which will be a dramatic shift in temperatures and weather pattern overall. We quickly go from late summer-like conditions to late fall-like conditions in under 24hrs for the entire Northeast; with low 80’s today dropping to 50’s tomorrow for highs. We also expect a reinforcing airmass of chilly conditions that’ll help make Halloween night and Wednesday an unseasonably chilly one before we begin to slowly moderate Thursday and Friday.

Overall though, we’ll be watching these reinforcing air masses that’ll help keep the Northeast and NYC on the majority cool side rather than mild. Plus, some areas of the Northeast could see their first opportunities for some snow or mixed precip as we go into the end of the first week of November into the second.

For today, expect a gorgeous one with sunshine and highs in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. Areas away from the coast will be best suited for low 80’s, then clouds creep in tonight signaling the end.

Expect mostly cloudy skies tomorrow with on and off showers. Highs will be int he mid 50’s at best, dropping into the upper 40/near 50 range by late afternoon for a raw and chilly feel.

WEATHER RADAR

Clouds and leftover showers hang out for part of Monday with low to mid 50’s. We’ll have some partial clearing, then clouds will return for Halloween after some morning sunshine. Highs will be in the near 50/low 50 range for Halloween day. Overnight, expect the slight chance of some showers as that reinforcing front heads down. Lows will be a chilly near 40/low 40’s.

We could see a few leftover clouds and showers Wednesday morning, then sunshine returns late. It’ll be a chilly one with highs in the mid to upper 40’s. Lows overnight will dip into the 35-40 range. Away from the City, Long Island could see low mid 30’s, and upper 20’s to low 30’s N&W of NYC.

We’ll begin to modify Thursday and Friday as 50’s return, but I think chilly air returns by next weekend with a margin of error between 1-2 days. We’ll have to watch the timing on that airmass and system that’ll help bring it down.

Mid-Novermber could get interesting as far as prospects of some frozen precip for parts of the Northeast.
