NYC Dry & Seasonal Fourth Of July Then Heat Builds
Good morning everyone and happy 4th of July! We have ourselves a beautiful day today, then the heat begins to build tomorrow. As hot as this week is going to be, this is actually not the possible heatwave I’ve been keeping an eye on. Things look to try and get even hotter for a stretch the following week, and that’s where we might have our first heatwave of the season.
SATELLITE
We have some leftover clouds this morning, but sunshine will prevail and we’ll have a fairly nice day today. Highs will be in the mid 80’s and dew points will be in the low to mid 60’s, which is slightly humid, but not oppressive.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow we go hot again as we pivot towards a deep summer stretch. Look for full sunshine, increasing humidity, and the very slight chance of a shower or storm. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80’s to low 90’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Since this is the holiday, we’ll keep things short and sweet for the 5 day. We lock into a very warm to hot pattern, and upper 80’s to low 90’s will be with us for the entire week. Each day will include the slight chance of a storm, but it’ll be widely scattered in nature and mostly inland.
A front should swing through to bring us some temporary relief some time between Friday and next Saturday, but then the heat wants to return with a vengeance. Once everything gets going, it looks as if a period of 95-100 degree weather is possible between July 12 and the 19th. We’ll pinpoint the dates as we get closer and if the ingredients hold together.
