NYC Early AM Sprinkles/Flurries Cold Weekend Ahead
Good morning everyone. A quickly departing system is sparking off some flurries and sprinkles across as it leaves, then we return to blustery & dry conditions. Our weekend is looking cold, but nothing extreme; and next week’s system is looking paltry so far, with most of the energy suppressed to the south.
SATELLITE
Expect morning clouds with some snow showers or rain showers (especially along the south shore of Long Island), then skies will clear and the wind will pick up. Any rain showers should change to flurries before ending as that cold air beats out the back edge of the moisture. Expect highs near 40, but wind chills will make it feel very cold.
Tomorrow we’ll have some morning clouds, then PM clearing, with highs near 40 again. Near 40 temps hold on through Friday, then temps drop into the low to mid 30’s Saturday and Sunday under full sunshine.
To start next week, we may still see some very light snow changing to rain with some overrunning connect to a system sliding southeast. All signs are hinting to that system being pushed south of the area, taking most of the energy with it.
