NYC First Frost Freeze Possible After Next Weekend’s System
Good afternoon everyone. We are entering a quiet period as our coastal system developed well off of the coast, avoiding a Nor’easter-type situation. However, we have an important system next weekend regardless of what form it takes. After a rather quiet workweek with various amounts of sunshine and 60’s (milder towards Thursday), we will be watching a vigorous front coming out of Canada and energy in the Southeast.
If they merge, we could see a fairly powerful coastal/near coastal storm. If they don’t, strong low pressure moving down from the Great Lakes, will still be enough to pull down some cold air into the area. This could mean our first frosts and freezes in parts of the Northeast.
SATELLITE
For today, look for clouds and sun, a stiff NW flow, and highs in the upper 50’s to near 60. We go for 60 again tomorrow with winds subsiding and more clouds and sun.
WEATHER RADAR
Clouds and sun continue Tuesday with the slight chance of shower. Highs remain stuck near 60. Wednesday will be our first opportunity to see 60-65 under full sunshine, then a little milder Thursday ahead of our next system with maybe some upper 60’s.
Clouds increase Friday with the chance of some late afternoon/evening showers. Highs in the low to mid 60’s.
We are going to pause for next weekend just due to the uncertainty for the forecast. At minimum though, we could see some rain on Saturday again.
