NYC FIVE DAY UPPER EIGHTY LOW NINETY STRETCH COMING
NYC FIVE DAY UPPER EIGHTY LOW NINETY STRETCH COMING – Good morning everyone! We have a beautiful day unfolding today in New York City after we had some morning pop-up showers cross the area. That’ll help keep things slightly humid for the time being, but we’ll dry out as we go along. In other news, the heat will be creeping back in even though we have a fast NW flow brewing.
Look for some puffy low, mid-level, and high clouds to dot the sky today with a relatively calm day wind-wise. Highs will be a very seasonable low to mid 80’s. Tomorrow will be similar but a little drier humidity-wise, with sunny skies and mid 80’s in most areas. Winds tomorrow will switch over to the south, which will help pump in some heat for the weekend.
Expect sun and clouds, increasing humidity on Saturday; highs in the upper 80’s to near 90. Clouds dot the sky on Sunday as we turn up the juice a little bit more, highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s.
To start the week, the heat continues, with low 90’s on Monday, possibly some mid 90’s in notoriously hotter locations. High humidity will hold the temps down a notch for Tuesday as a front approaches from our WNW. Highs will be in the upper 80’s to near 90, with a decent shot at some heavy showers and storms in the afternoon/evening. On Wednesday, that front passes by and dries things out, but NW winds and sinking air will still help temps get into the upper 80’s. Low dew points though will help keep it from feeling too oppressive. We’ll have to wait and see what Thursday wants to do, but we could get a 1 day reprieve before upper 80’s to low 90’s want to return for next Friday/next weekend.
Regardless of the NW flow and quick moving systems, I’m not seeing any big pushes of much cooler air. In fact, aside from a 1 day break here and there, I’m seeing these big blocks of upper 80’s to low 90’s continuing through late July and possibly into August. With the average temp of 83/84 this time of year, we will remain above average, sometimes well above average, most days until further notice.
