NYC Foggy Morning Today Halloween Forecast Deteriorating
Good morning everyone. We have a little bit of fog up and down the East Coast this morning, but things will slowly begin to “clear up” back into the regular gloom we’ve been dealing with. Sunshine is still on schedule for Thursday, but the Hail-Mary forecast for Halloween may go out of bounds as our pattern may slow down to a grind over the area.
SATELLITE
Look for morning fog today, gradually lifting back to mostly cloudy skies. It’ll be milder with highs 65-70, with 70 being the high water mark if we get a few blue breaks. We’ll also have the chance of a few scattered showers and/or patches of drizzle.
Tomorrow looks mostly cloudy and humid, with a better chance of some showers meandering around the area. We’ll have highs in the mid to upper 60’s, and that’s about as good as we’ll do.
WEATHER RADAR
Sunshine returns on Thursday with winds rotating around to the NW. It’ll be a steady breeze but not windy, and highs should be a dry 65-70.
Cool air lags behind those Northwesterlies, but they will make it in by Friday. Expect highs in the upper 50’s to near 60 for the area.
Your weekend is holding steady, with seasonably cool temps and sunshine throughout. Saturday is the cooler of the two with highs 55-60, then upper 50’s to low 60’s Sunday. Clouds will increase Sunday night, and that’s where the forecast becomes tricky.
We will be on the lookout to see if a weak area of low pressure gets hung up offshore in combination with a front to our west. If this happens, our clouds and sun forecast with upper 50’s to mid 60’s, may be replaced with cloudy skies, showers, and near 60 temps.
As far as the tropics are concerned, there’s a lot of chatter going around with long range models, but nothing exists at the moment. While it could be a sign of something, I will remain highly skeptical until I see anything tangible (like an actual strong wave or depression). We’ll keep an eye on it all, but I am not addressing any hypothetical threats from wonky, fall, long-range models.
