NYC HALLOWEEN 2018 HAIL MARY OUTLOOK TOSS
Good morning everyone. The New York City area has some morning rain which snuck in with a weak disturbance; and I make a long-range, Hail-mary toss from end-zone to end-zone to try and win the big forecasting game.
Clouds and showers are with us for the time being and we should expect them to stick around for a few more hours as everything begins to pull out. We should see some sun by early afternoon with highs in mid to upper 50’s and a moderate westerly breeze as we go on. Wind calms down tonight and we go for a relatively cool night for this time of year. Look for lows in the mid to upper 40’s on the heat island, but we could see 30’s out on Long Island and upstate; where frost advisories have been posted in regards N&W of the City.
For tomorrow, the sun is back all day and temps will slightly modify; highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.
On Monday, clouds increase as a reinforcing shot of cooler air heads our way. We’ll have highs in the low to mid 60’s and the chance of some showers, especially at night. Clouds will be stubborn, but we should clear them out by Tuesday late afternoon the latest, with highs back down into the upper 50’s to low 60’s. We should have full sun on Wednesday as we repeat seasonal temps. Slightly cooler air works its way in for late week; then the weekend (or at least the first part) is possibly looking unsettled as another reinforcing shot of cool/relatively cold air works in.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Looking ahead, reinforcing shots of cool air continue to move across the eastern half of the Country; keeping us either in the normal realm or slightly below normal. For your Halloween, it looks as if we’re leaning towards breezy and cool, with clouds giving way to sun and a relatively cold night. This is a hail-Mary pass, so we’ll have to see if it holds and we’ll update that long range if there are any changes.
