NYC Heavy Rain Strong Winds Expected
Good afternoon everyone. We’re watching this powerful storm transit from the Midwest towards the Eastern Seaboard, bringing with it blizzard conditions in its cold sector, and severe thunderstorms in the Southeast ahead of a powerful cold front. Tornado watches have been posted in parts of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina in regards.
That line of severe weather will continue to race ENE and swing through the Southeast by late evening, then all of that energy will head north into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast in the form of torrential rain and thunderstorms, damaging winds (especially along the coast, and flooding conditions. For areas of the Southeast, expect isolated fast-moving tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds, and frequent lightning.

SATELLITE
Rain is starting to move into the NYC Metro Area and it should increase in intensity as we go on through the day and overnight. Highs will be in the mid 40’s, but continue to rise overnight. We’ll have heavy rain overnight, with winds reaching 50-60mph along the immediate shore. Some areas, especially off of Cape Cod, could see wind gusts 60-70mph.
WEATHER RADAR
Rain and wind taper off tomorrow, with som blue breaks late in the days. Highs near 50 will drop before sunset. Thursday is the best day of the week, with sunshine, mid to upper 40’s, and light winds.
After that, we cloud up again for another big rainmaker heading in for late Friday, Friday night, and Saturday morning.
