NYC Heavy Storms With Possible Flooding Late Tomorrow

NYC Heavy Storms With Possible Flooding Late Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. We have a hot and humid one today as some extra sunshine will help keep us near 90 for the day. Meanwhile, our frontal boundary will finally drift our way, and it continues to move at a slow pace. That’ll equate to the possibility of heavy showers and storms tomorrow, especially in the evening/overnight. The slow moment of our storms could cause some serious flooding issues, especially in NW NJ and parts of the NYC Metro Area that are prone to flooding.

For today, look for sun and clouds and the slight chance of a late thunderstorm. As with yesterday, the majority of the action will be N& W of the City, but we can still see one sneak by. Highs will be in the upper 80’s to near 90 and very humid.

Expect an AM mix of sun & clouds tomorrow, with highs humidity again and highs in the 80-85 range. Our front nears the area, and a frontal wave will develop along it. That’ll help touch off very heavy, slow moving showers and storms, especially in the evening and overnight hours. Where these storms set up, expect flash flooding issues. We also have the risk of small hail and damaging winds.

WEATHER RADAR

We begin to settle down on Monday, but not before the chance of some AM showers and storms. We’ll clear things out late for a mix of sun and clouds; highs 80-85.

The heat begins to build again on Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies, increasing humidity, and highs int he upper 80’s to near 90. Wednesday is looking sunny, hot, and humid, with highs in the near 90/low 90 realm.

We’ll go for 90 again on Thursday, then upper 80’s Friday with sun & clouds and the chance of some heavy storms again.
