NYC HIGH WIND WATCH BECOMES WARNING

Good morning everyone. It looks like everyone is going to get in on the action in terms of heavy wind gusts, including New York City as watches have been upgraded to warnings. But first, we have a mild day before the wind machine turns on.

EASTERN SATELLITE

storm free

We still have a few hours of clouds and rain to go today, but the action has become lighter and more on and off in nature. Expect periods of rain today until between 11am-2pm, then partial clearing and highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Rain and clouds hang around a little too long to go for 60.

Overnight, the cold air moves back in and the wind machine cranks up. Look for lows in the upper 20’s to low 30’s and westerlies gusting to 45-50mph.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

Tomorrow will be sunny, seasonably cold, and very windy. Those gusts get a little more juiced up and we could approach 55-60mph in areas; highs in the mid to upper 30’s. Tomorrow night, the wind continues but subsides a little bit. We’ll still have gusts to 40+ possible and we go very cold overnight; lows in the low 20’s.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

storm free

Cold and wind continue for Tuesday, as well as sunny and breezy conditions. Mid 30’s will be on the menu and we go for upper teens in the NYC overnight Tuesday. We could see some low to mid teens away from the City, especially in the Pine Barrens of Long Island and the NW suburbs with radiational cooling.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
storm free

We continue the cold air Wednesday again with mid 30’s, then slowly modify back to seasonably cool temps Thursday and Friday as we watch for our next system. As of now, that one is looking like another event in which we could see a little snow or mixed precipitation to all heavy rain again, but timing will be key and we have time to go to dial it in.
