NYC Holiday Forecast Continues Better Trend
Good afternoon everyone. We continue our fine workweek, plus a continuing trend towards a sunnier and drier Memorial Day Weekend. Check it out below .
SATELLITE
Smoke-filtered sunshine remains in place as those forest fires remain a problem well to our NW in Canada. We’ll see dry conditions with highs in the low 70’s.
Our cold front bringing slightly cooler air will swing through tomorrow afternoon. This means AM sunshine, then a mix of sun and clouds late. We could see a scattered shower or storm, which could be on the gusty side if you see one. Highs in the mid 70’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Sunshine continues on Thursday and Friday with highs again in the low 70’s. Your weekend is getting more dry as time goes on and it looks as if high pressure sill dominate. A double barrel high, combined with low pressure to our south, could cause an issue with rough inlets and riptides for boaters and beachgoers. Highs Sat & Sunday in the low to mid 70’s.
Right now the NWS is calling for sun & clouds and a chance of showers on Memorial Day, but right now I simply don’t see it. For the moment, I’m calling for the sun & clouds part, especially the further south you go, but I think it remains dry. Highs should be in the 75-80 range, close to 80 or even a notch above if we hold onto more sunshine and more favorable winds.
