NYC Hot Day Today Scattered Storms Late
Good afternoon everyone. We have a very warm to hot day today as temps approach 90 in many spots, with some spots breaking 90, and others languishing in the 70’s/80’s near the shore. Overall it’s a nice day, but we do have some scattered heavy storms brewing upstate as we speak. They will try and make it down, but backdoor cold fronts are a strange animal when it comes to storms in the metro area.
In other news, a very convoluted pattern emerges through mid-June, which equates to wide-ranging temps and conditions. For those looking for steadier, late-spring conditions, you’ll have to look somewhere else.
SATELLITE
Expect some cirrus clouds from the blowoff of our storms to the north and temps in the upper 80’s to low 90’s today. Again, temps “struggle” in the 70’s and 80’s near-shore. Overnight we’ll have the slight chance of some scattered storms, but the fuel will run out as the heat dissipates pretty quickly. Lows will be in the upper 50’s to 60’s tonight after being near 90, which constitutes a sizable drop.
Clouds stick round tomorrow with the chance of some scattered showers. We’ll be on the very cool side with temps hovering in the mid 60’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Sunday is a winner as sunshine increases and we get back to near 70/low 70 temps, then mid 70’s pay a visit to start the workweek.
