NYC HOT TOASTY FATHERS DAY HOTTER MONDAY
NYC HOT TOASTY FATHERS DAY HOTTER MONDAY – Good sunny morning everyone. For those who love summer, you’re going to love this forecast for the New York City area. Our November-like pattern is finally broken and summer is moving in very fast.
As previously expected, look for a warm and windy day today. Full sunshine will be in effect and most areas will see low to mid 80’s. However, those winds will be gusty today, with sustained winds 10-20mph and gusts 20-30mph. Tomorrow, look for slightly cooler temps with a northerly flow, but it’ll only be a 1 day event. Highs 75-80 tomorrow as the bright sunshine continues.
For Father’s Day weekend, we jump feet-first into summer. Light NW winds will help warm things up and keep things comfortable humidity-wise for Saturday, but that light flow will help boost temps into the mid 80’s. A few locales could see upper 80’s if the flow is light enough. On Sunday, we crank up the juice a bit and the sun continues to shine hard; expect near 90 temps and we could even go a notch or two higher.
Monday looks mid-July heatwave-hot. The 3 H’s will settle over us, with hazy, hot, and humid conditions, highs in the mid 90’s. Don’t be surprised if we go for the century mark in notoriously hotter areas such as Newark and downtown Brooklyn/Queens. We’ll also increase the chance of an afternoon thunderstorm, which is also typical with this level of heat and humidity. Tuesday continues to look hot and humid, with upper 80’s to low 90’s, and even a better shot at some storms; then we have a chance for a temporary cool-down on Wednesday.
Look range is holding steady as a Bermuda high-esque setup tries to get going. This translates into more consistent heat and also stronger cold fronts; increasing the chance of some severe weather.
As far as the Marine forecast is concerned, Saturday will be your best shot at getting some ocean fishing done if that’s your thing. With light NW winds, it’ll be virtually dead flat out there, with 1ft seas. So hit those artificial reefs and wrecks for some bigger fluke and enjoy some spot casting for choppers.
