NYC JUNE WEEKEND SALVAGED FROM HOSTILE PATTERN
NYC JUNE WEEKEND SALVAGED FROM HOSTILE PATTERN
NYC JUNE WEEKEND SALVAGED FROM HOSTILE PATTERN – Good morning everyone. Aside from this beautiful day unfolding here in New York City, we also have some good news about our approaching weekend. What was thought to be another 2 day gloom-fest, started to evolve yesterday and I’m ready to make the call in certain aspects.
First off, we have bright sunshine today and relatively low dewpoints compared to the previous last several days. Light WSW winds and a warm flow will help put most of the area in the 80-85 range.
For tomorrow, dry air fighting back will help halt and suppress any rain trying to make it into the area. We’ll still have more clouds than sun for most of the day, but it’s better than a rainout and most of the metro area should see 75-80.
Tomorrow night gets a little tricky as some scattered moisture will slide into the area, but most of it will still remain suppressed to our south and west. We have a slight chance of a few brief showers very late evening and into the night, then a slight chance of a rumble of thunder after midnight. Nothing will last long and not everyone will see rain.
On Sunday, any remaining energy is pushed back south and west with the help of a strong maritime flow. We’ll have morning clouds and any scattered rain will come to an end early. Look for afternoon sun and low to mid 70’s throughout the area.
As we enter the week, Monday and Tuesday look sunny and seasonable; then we notch up the humidity and temps for Wednesday through Friday (possibly beyond), with the chance of a shower or storm each day.
