NYC WEEKEND FLIP FLOP RAIN SWAP QUESTIONS ARISE
NYC WEEKEND FLIP FLOP RAIN SWAP QUESTIONS ARISE – Good morning. We awake this morning to some confusing models for the New York City weekend as far as which day will have the best chance of rain. However, at least we hold steady forecast-wise today and tomorrow to string together two nice days back to back. Last week I presented this caveat in terms of the forecast being day to day at times with this pattern.
For today, morning clouds will give way to some afternoon sun. Expect low to mid 70’s in most areas, slightly cooler at the immediate shore with an increasing southerly breeze. Winds switch over to the west tomorrow and heat things up, but also dry things out. Look for low to mid 80’s across almost the entire area, maybe even near 80 at the shore with bright sunshine everywhere.
For the weekend, morning models are playing games with the atmosphere and slowing things down a bit. Local outlets are still calling for a rainy Saturday/dry Sunday scenario, but the computers are showing otherwise. With the atmosphere grinding to a halt, this could mean a fair Saturday, then some scattered showers late Saturday night; followed by a steadier rain possible Sunday.
I’m not calling the ball on the weekend yet and want 1 more day to see how things pan out. As I said, this pattern we are stuck in is very very tricky at times. Regardless, look for clouds and mid 70’s for both Saturday and Sunday, but the big question is which day will see the rain.
Stay tuned.
