NYC Leftover Morning Clouds Showers
Good morning everyone. We have leftover morning clouds and showers, and even some heavier action hanging on at the North Fork of Long Island. Eventually everything will wind down as low pressure in the Great Lakes send most of the energy to our north and east. We’re also looking for some more comfortable air before 80’s return, and we continue to watch old and future-old frontal boundaries for any possible tropical development.
SATELLITE
Clouds stick around this morning and we have the slight chance of a shower or storm. We still have some heavy rain in extreme NE Suffolk, and that’ll hold on long enough to cause some flooding issues. Regardless, we do some late clearing and areas that do see a few hours of sunshine, will climb into the mid 80’s.
Northwesterlies, sunshine, and some sinking ai, will help get us back into a dry low to mid 80’s tomorrow; but then the cooler air sets in going forward.
WEATHER RADAR
Heading into late week and early into the weekend, mid to upper 70’s rule the roost with very comfortable conditions. We’ll call it “seasonably mild”, with full sunshine and dry conditions. We could also see some mid 50’s overnight Thursday and Friday for a “crisp” feel and better sleeping weather.
Lows overnight Saturday will only dip into the mid 60’s, which will be the harbinger for a return to the 80’s Sunday. Expect more humid conditions and mid 80’s Sunday, then more mid 80’s (possibly upper 80’s) on Monday depending on the timing of our next system.
Overall it is fairly quiet and the reinforcing shots of cooler air look pretty tame for the moment. If any particular front looks sharper and severe weather looks more likely, we will re-adjust as needed. As of now, it doesn’t look like we’re working with enough moisture.
For the tropics, we remain vigilant as we closely watch for any quick development along old frontal boundaries. It is common this time of year when things are looking somewhat quiet out in the Atlantic, that old fronts can develop waves or pick up old waves moving into the Caribbean, then make something quickly that energy. So far there is nothing, but this is the type of stuff that catches many off guard.
