NYC Light Westerlies Give Temps Some Extra Octane
Good afternoon everyone. While we’re already in the low to mid 80’s in spots, I’m reminded of how scenarios such as this are underdone days prior temp-wise. We are guilty of the same old mistakes as temps are going to climb a little higher than expected, with possibly a few hot readings. It’ll be a very dry heat though, and things will feel relatively comfortable.
SATELLITE
Full sunshine and light west winds will fuel the turbo boost in temps as dry sinking air heats up very fast. Expect 85-90 degree temps across the area, with near 90/low 90 temps seeing the greatest opportunity just west of Manhattan in NJ, central Brooklyn, Queens, and maybe even upper-central Nassau and Suffolk.
We’ll dial things back a bit tomorrow, but increase the humidity to respectable levels instead of extremely dry. Look for highs in the mid 80’s, cooler at the shore.
WEATHER RADAR
Clouds sneak in for the weekend as do cooler temps. We’ll have increasing clouds Saturday with the chance of a few gusty showers and storms. Highs will be 65-70.
Expect more 65-70 degree temps on Sunday, with more clouds and the chance of a few showers.
We continue that grove on Monday with 65-70 degree temps and scattered showers, then sunshine and cool temps return Tuesday, onward. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.
