NYC Long Range Continues Fall Air Hint

Good morning everyone. We begin the clearing process today, lining up a beautiful 4-5 day stretch overall. Meanwhile, the gears are turning towards a more Fall-like pattern with reinforcing shots of cooler air. We’ll explain it all down below, but I think many are going to like the forecast.

For today, we’ll have clearing as the day wears on and it’ll be a warm and somewhat humid one. Expect highs in the low to mid 80’s for a nice mid-September day.

Cooler air lags behind, but we do cool off a bit tomorrow. We’ll have sunshine, dry conditions, and highs in the upper 70’s to near 80.

WEATHER RADAR

We start the week with sunshine and continue a downward trend towards more near-average temps. Look for mid 70’s both Monday and Tuesday, then we notch up the temps a humidity a bit for Wednesday. That’s in response to our next system, and we should see upper 70’s to near 80.

Clouds roll in late Wednesday and into Thursday with the chance of some showers. The cloud cover will help keep us in the low to mid 70’s, but even as sunshine returns for Friday, a brief cool shot will keep us in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.

For our last weekend in September, we could see some low to mid 70’s ahead of our next cool shot, then we’ll see how cool we get.

Beyond that last weekend in September, I see very cool air to finish off the month. The question is, how cool do we go and for how long. I believe we are pivoting towards a more Fall-like pattern, but I also don’t think we’re done yet with the warm air. I’m looking for frequent cool shots, but some warm days ahead of those systems if the timing works out.

For now, I looks as if cool air pays a visit Monday or Tuesday (27th or 28th) then we begin modifying already by the first weekend in October. Some warmer air is possible on a brief scale, then we get another cool shot. Overall, we are trending down in the temps slowly.
