NYC MILD RAIN THUNDER TODAY
NYC MILD RAIN THUNDER TODAY – Good morning everyone. Mild air, heavy rain, and rumbles of thunder are knocking on our doorstep as promised. This is courtesy of a long reaching and stretched out frontal system, with low pressure heading well to our north.
Cloudy skies, scattered drizzle, and patchy foggy conditions are being reported throughout most of the area. Expect highs 55-60 today aside from the immediate coast. Southerly winds are helping to pump mild air up and also the energy that’ll fuel our heavy rain. It won’t be a rainout all day, but look for periods of heavy showers and some thunder as waves of energy race north northeast ahead of our cold front. Look for winds 10-20mph, with higher gusts along the immediate shore and elsewhere in thunderstorms and heavy rain. Don’t be surprised to see marine warnings pop up, or even some localized severe thunderstorm warnings pop up due to brief, strong surface winds.
