NYC Periods Of Rain For The Next Two Days

Good morning everyone. The gloom is upon us and rain will be in and out of the area till late tomorrow night. Things will clear up for the second half of the weekend, but it’ll feel chilly as blustery conditions settle in with seasonably average temps.

The forecast is fairly simple, expect cloudy skies until Sunday morning. We have a steady batch of rain moving through as we speak, then we’ll catch a “break” with drizzly conditions; then another batch should move through later. Highs today in the mid 40’s.

More on and off rain moves through tonight, then pretty much the same thing tomorrow. Cloudy skies and on and off rain continues, as does the mid 40’s.

REGIONAL RADAR

Clearing will ensue Sunday morning, but NW winds 20-30mph combined with low 40’s, will give us a much chillier feel than the actual temps dictate. Upper 30’s to low 40’s are our average highs for this time of year, so there’s nothing out of the ordinary going on here.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Bright sunshine and mid 40’s rule for Monday, but breezy conditions will help continue that chilly feel. Our next system looks to be around mid to late Tuesday, and it seems to have problems getting organized until late.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this one for maybe a parting shot of snow for someone in the Northeast after some rain. Right now, we’ll have to get through this system first and see what kind of atmosphere is behind it. If there’s not enough energy to work with, look for just some light showers and that’s that.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

Our long range continues to be rough for snow lovers on paper, but the pattern itself is slowly growing colder and a little bit more “friendly” towards the end of the month. That doesn’t mean we can’t have anything in between, nor does it mean we will have something at the end, but conditions may become more favorable if the opportunity presents itself come the last 1/3 of January.
