NYC Quiet Seasonal Thanksgiving Overall

NYC Quiet Seasonal Thanksgiving Overall

Good morning everyone. The unseasonably cold air is out of the area, replaced by more seasonal type temps typical for late November. Meanwhile, Friday’s system maintains its weak look, and your holiday weekend remains rather quiet aside from the chance of some showers Sunday (maybe).

We’ll keep it simple today since we went over the long range yesterday and there isn’t much going on overall. Sunshine rules today all the way through Thanksgiving on Thursday. Temps will also remain rather uniform throughout the next 3 days, with near 50 temps and gentle West/Northwesterlies.

WEATHER RADAR

Clouds will increase Thanksgiving night and into Friday morning, then we’ll have the chance of some showers. I’m really not impressed with the setup as none of the pieces of energy converged, with most of the steadier rain going north of the area and/or staying offshore. Highs will be in the near 50/low 50 range.

The sun returns on Saturday with low to mid 50’s, then we’ll watch and see what our next system does.

For those who like to obsess with models, if you notice, the GFS continues to want to send a Nor’easter or Nor’easter-like (an inland rider) into the Northeast. If you like to look at patterns of behavior like I do, it did the same thing for weeks with tropical activity before Nicole finally materialized and did what some of the earliest models depicted. This is a problem we’ve had with the models lately, especially during the change of seasons. With all of this, my spidey sense tells me that within the next few weeks, we will get our first Nor’Easter or Nor’easter-like system since the models keep kicking the can down the road. Like a broken clock, eventually the models will be right since the same setups of energy keep rhyming within a couple of hundred miles, but never materialize & phase; eventually it has to just based on chance.
