NYC Wide Ranging System Ushers Chillier Air Into Area

NYC Wide Ranging System Ushers Chillier Air Into Area

Good morning everyone. We have a quiet day ahead of us before a fairly large and powerful system sweeps across the East Coast, brining with it chillier air and blustery conditions. In the long range 2 weeks ago, we talked about a mild start to December, but the margin of error left us off by 1 day since our mildest day of this stretch, will be tomorrow November 30th before we go a little chilly. That being said, there’s nothing extreme on the horizon as far as cold air as most of our systems wind up being Great Lake-runners from SW to NE.

We start off with clouds this morning, but we should see some blue patches as the day goes on. We may even break out into some full sunshine, but the clouds will increase again with tomorrow’s system heading in. We’ll have highs in the mid 40’s with very light winds.

Tomorrow is a different animal with milder air being pushed up ahead of a strong cold front. We’ll have breezy, mild, and humid conditions; then we should see some gusty showers as the day goes on. Don’t be surprised if you hear a rumble or two of thunder, especially inland, and some of our showers will be heavy at times. Expect highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.

WEATHER RADAR

The bottom drops out tomorrow night with upper 20’s to low 30’s, and we won’t recover much on Thursday. Look for a blustery day with wind gusts near 30mph, and highs in the mid 40’s at best. Lows will sink down to the near 30 range overnight Thursday, but mid to upper 20’s will be common away from the City.

Mid 40’s (maybe a few upper 40’s) stick around for Friday under full sunshine, but we’ll soften up the lows a bit under increasing clouds. Lows overnight will be in the 35-40 range.

We’ll have mid to upper 40’s Saturday with a slight chance of a few scattered showers as some instability passes by; then we finish up nicely on Sunday with sunshine and near 50 temps.
