NYC Quiet Several Days Ahead Activity Cold Reboot

NYC Quiet Several Days Ahead Activity Cold Reboot

Good morning everyone. We have a decent forecast ahead as our pattern change continues to evolve. Remember, we said that this process would take approx. 2 weeks when we discussed the prospect of a change from our Zonal-flow to a more robust one that involved deeper-diving systems & colder air.

While it may not seem so, the colder air is actually on schedule for that 1st week of February we discussed in last week’s long range. For now though, that’s all we have as far as good-probability. Our models are very wonky in terms of systems beyond the next 7 days and they should not be trusted.

The forecast is an easy one otherwise, with increasing sunshine, increasing wind, and dropping temps today. Temps near 50 as I type this, will quickly drop though the 40’s. Lows overnight will be in the upper 20’s to near 30.

We’ll have a sunny day tomorrow with low to mid 40’s as highs.

WEATHER RADAR

Your weekend is looking comfortable with temps approx 5-8 degrees above average. Look for some Saturday sunshine with mid to upper 40’s, then increasing clouds Sunday and more mid to upper 40’s.

We could see a few sprinkles overnight Sunday into early Monday AM, but we should have partial clearing overall on Monday. Highs should be in the low to mid 40’s and breezy. I’ll stop there since things look a little complicated down the road, but at minimum, we still see no immediate or medium-range chance of any major snows for the NYC area.
