NYC Quiet Week Extends Into Weekend With Mild Monday Ahead

Good morning everyone. For those sitting on the edge their seat, waiting to see if our weekend system is going to do anything with last minute surprises, you can sit back and relax like I’ve been all week. Aside from a sprinkle or flurry, we have a quiet weekend. We also have much milder air heading in for Monday and Tuesday, but that will be short-lived.

Look for sunny skies today as the coldest air of the week takes “grip”. It’ll be a weak grip though, and seasonably cold upper 30’s will be pulling out already by tomorrow.

REGIONAL RADAR

Overnight tonight, we drop into the low 30’s, and that’s the first sign the cold air is already gone. Expect AM sun, then increasing clouds tomorrow, with highs in the low 40’s.

Our weak system scoots off the coast tomorrow and doesn’t gain steam until it nears Nova Scotia. For us, that equals nothing but being brushed by the cloud bank, steady but light northeasterlies, and the slight chance of a shower or flurry. The “best” chance of that slight chance will be on the Forks of Long Island.  Highs tomorrow will be a raw low to mid 40’s, but it’ll be pretty much quiet and uneventful.

On Sunday, we begin to clear out and get a decent breeze in the area. We’ll head into the mid 40’s as we get ready for a quick shot of milder air.

Monday and Tuesday look fantastic until our next rainmaker arrives on Wednesday. Look for mid 50’s in most spots, upper 40’s at the immediate shore, and more sun than clouds.

We’ll discuss Wednesday’s system as it nears, but it’s all rain and we continue to see no major snowstorms on the immediate horizon.
