NYC Quiet Weekend As Active Pattern Breaks Down
Good late morning everyone. We’re finally saying goodbye to our slow moving system that brought snow and wintry mix to the area from Thursday morning to last night, and we’re replacing it with cold but sunny weather this weekend. Snow totals are in, and most areas saw that 4-8″+ range, with a few spots coming in a little under, and a few spots out east coming in slightly over. We have a weak system moving through on Monday, and that one looks to be inconsequential. Then our work week looks very very quiet.
SATELLITE
Expect sunny, breezy, and cold conditions today with highs in the low to mid 30’s. Look for more of the same tomorrow, but we’ll dial back the wind a notch. Highs again in the low to mid 30’s.
F5 WEATHER RADARS
Our weak system moves through on Monday, and we might have just enough cold air to pull off some onset LIGHT snow, but it mixes with and changes to light rain fairly quickly. Highs in the low 40’s, and that’ll help with the snow melt a bit.
Tuesday through Thursday look spectacular, with sunshine and seasonably comfortable temps. The thaw will be on as temps reach the low to mid 40’s Tuesday, mid 40’s Wednesday, and possibly 45-50 Thursday. Friday turns colder as a reinforcing shot of cool air heads in, but we remain on the quiet side.
Use this time to clean up as the gears of spring start turning, especially along the Gulf Coast (which is a good sign for us down the road).
