NYC Rainy Day Today Halloween Outlook Interesting
Good morning everyone. Rain has arrived as expected and the forecast will include some tweaks as far as precip timing, duration, and the amount of cool air behind our system. Other things don’t require tweaking, such as wind and a sunny & cool Sunday, and very mild air Wednesday onward.
We’re also watching very closely our next daisy-chain system set to approach the area around the time of Halloween. This is still far out and we have a long way to go, but many signs point to our first taste of some cold to very cold conditions, specifically at night. Timing will be key and the margin of error remains 1-3 days on this. This could lead us in 2 different directions for Halloween – 1. A milder, rainy Halloween with a possible chilly night, or – 2. A dry, breezy, and very cool Halloween with a cold night.
We will watch it all and see how it unfolds. Regardless of whether it’s at or after Halloween though, it looks as if cool/colder air will lock in for a few days to start off our November.
SATELLITE
For today, expect on and off rain with maybe even a rumble of thunder. We should see a little break in between the raindrops, but then it returns later. Highs today will be in the mid 60’s.
On and off rain continues overnight with lows in the mid to upper 50’s.
WEATHER RADAR
For tomorrow, look for some morning rain, then partial clearing late. We’ll also see the wind increase later in the day as low pressure begins to wrap up off of Maine. Highs in the low 60’s.
Expect cool and windy conditions Sunday, with winds gusts possible to near 35mph. Highs should be in the mid 50’s.
We start off cool on Monday with diminishing winds and highs in the mid to upper 50’s. A piece of energy left behind from our system, will help keep temps from dropping into the frosty realm for NYC, but we will still be on the crisp side for this time of year. Expect lows in the low 40’s in NYC, upper 30’s to near 40 for parts of Long Island, and mid to upper 30’s N&W of NYC where you could see some frost in the valleys.
