NYC Very Mild Midweek After Cool Start
Good morning everyone. We’re off to a very cool, cloudy, and windy start today; which will extend into the start of our workweek sans the wind. The good news is that the cool air doesn’t last, and we remained dry all the way into at least part of Saturday. After that, we’ll be watching our frontal boundaries very closely in terms of timing with Halloween and what it may mean for it or just after. All signs post to a very cool or cold airmass spreading from the Midwest into the Northeast, but there is some difficulty with trying to nail down the timing right now.
Here is your 7 days forecast below….
SATELLITE
For today, look for AM clouds to give way to some blue breaks as the day goes on. It’ll be a windy one with gusts to near 30, and we will be on the cool side with highs in the mid 50’s. Overnight, we go cool, but not as cool as previously expected. This is due to some clouds and wind that’ll interfere with radiational cooling. Regardless, we dip into the mid 40’s overnight here in the NYC area, 40-45 for Long Island, and some areas N&W of NYC will some some 30’s and scattered frost in the valleys.
WEATHER RADAR
We remain cool tomorrow, but the wind noticeably calms down. Expect full sunshine, dry conditions, and highs in the mid to upper 50’s. Overnight we go cool again and around the same temps, but with the lighter winds, the Pine Barrens of Long Island could see some 30’s if conditions warrant.
Tuesday temps modify a bit with more sunshine and low 60’s. Wednesday is when the midl stuff starts to push in, and we remain sunny and dry. Look for highs near 70 on Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday look like gems, with 70-75 degree temps each day with sunny skies and light winds.
For Saturday, we’ll be watching the timing of our front, sunshine factor, and wind profile to see how mild (or warm) we go. For the moment, I’m going to stay conservative with low to mid 70’s. However, if the front hangs back a little bit and we get some extra sunshine, some areas may be in the near 80 range.
Sunday remains questionable clouds, rain, and temp-wise, so I’m going to hold off for a couple of days.
