NYC Rainy Thundery Afternoon Evening Today

NYC Rainy Thundery Afternoon Evening Today

Good morning everyone and welcome to Part II of gloom and doom. This part will be a little different, with heavier rain expected and a little bit more on the humid side as opposed to the maritime rawness. We do expect some flooding issues inland, but don’t count out NYC and Long Island either; with local flooding conditions possible in poor drainage areas.

Clouds are here, rain is creeping in, and we should see on and off rain for the rest of the day. As a more vigorous piece of energy leaves my area in SC and travels up the coast, you could see some late afternoon and evening embedded storms along with the heavy rain. Again, flooding will be an issue, especially NW NJ and NE PA, but we could still see some issues here locally as well. Highs will be a humid upper 50’s to low 60’s.

We could see a few morning blue breaks before clouds return tomorrow. That’ll be associated with stall out low pressure in the Great Lakes region of here and Canada. This will allow spokes of energy to travel around it and through the area, with sunshine added fuel to upper atmosphere areas of energy. Look for the chance of scattered showers tomorrow, highs 60-65.

WEATHER RADAR

These conditions will last throughout the week, but as that low drifts our way (but north of us), it’ll help keep us on the cool side with 55-60 degree temps Tuesday – Thursday; then upper 50’s to low 60’s Friday. Each day  aside from Friday will also consist of sun & clouds and the chance of popcorn showers as the sun works the atmosphere.

So far your weekend is looking dry and pleasant, with sun & clouds, a cool northerly flow, and highs 65-70 each day.
