NYC Seasonable Day Today & Still Watching Sunday
Good morning everyone. We have a few things going on as we close out this week, then we are watching some more very cold air coming in next week. Let’s start the show below.
SATELLITE
Today’s an easy one, with sun & clouds, a stiff breeze, and highs 35-40. The breeze won’t help with the wind chills, but it’ll still be a decent say to do some more cleaning. Just get the pick axe out though, because that snow has turned into a hard compacted mess.
F5 WEATHER RADARS
Overnight we cloud up, and there’s the chance for a brief mix tomorrow AM before turning to all rain. Best chance to see some flakes is west and north of the NYC area, but NYC could get in on the action brief. For Long Island, we’re pretty much talking all rain, with little chance of any mixing or freezing rain. Highs tomorrow in the low 40’s, so we can say with 100% certainty that this is going to all rain.
Saturday is quiet and seasonably cold, with a steady breeze and highs in the mid 30’s. Overnight we’ll cloud up again, and watch our next system. Yesterday, models were kicking this thing out to sea, but I still left the door open for some northerly fringe precip. This morning, models have opened the door as to what I was talking about.
We’ll keep an eye on it, but as of now we’re going to keep the forecast as cloudy with the slight chance of some light snow or mix. Unlike last weekend, this system is on the move regardless of what happens, so no need to panic about a 12-36″ blockbuster storm.
