NYC Slightly Cooler Wetter Wednesday Expected
Good morning. We have a so-so morning to start off our day, with low to mid level clouds mixed in a with a few patches of blue sky. With yesterday’s lack of events, we simply got nothing done in terms of getting this front pushed through the area. This will equate into some slightly cooler and more unsettled weather than previously expected; and this will cause a domino effect down the line as a traffic jam in the atmosphere of some sorts, happens.
SATELLITE
Expect mostly cloudy to cloudy skies today, very humid, with the chance of pop-up showers and storms at any point during the day. As of now, the radar has some scattered showers off to our west, and those may be creeping in over the course of the next couple of hours.
One thing that is different this time of year compared to mid-July, is that if we get a good cloud bank stuck in the area, you won’t see mid 80’s and cloudy skies; so for today, look for 75-80 degree temps in between tropical showers and a few rumbles.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow, we’ll continue to see clouds in the area, but could see a few more peeks of sunshine. The front passes by, but hangs too close to the area, giving us a steady easterly flow and the chance of a shower or rumble at any time during the day. Highs in the upper 70’s to low 80s.
For Friday, we return to more average-realm temps, but the maritime flow will continue to pump moisture in and give us the slight chance of a shower or storm during the day. Look for low 80’s around most of the area.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Your weekend continues to look warmer, but not as sunny and not as dry. That warm airmass giving the Southeast and Midwest creeps back in to give us another taste of deep summer. Expect humid conditions, clouds and sun, the chance of an isolated storm each day. We’ll be either at or slightly above normal for Saturday with low to mid 80’s, then much warmer with upper 80’s possible Sunday.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
In the long range, it looks as if warm and humid weather continues aside from a precip/cloud-driven cooler day here and there. The signs of September are there and everything is starting to pivot that way as we can see much cooler air invading Canada, but it’s not our turn yet.
MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
