NYC Soaking Rain Expected Tomorrow Night
Good morning everyone. We have departing rain today with maybe even some sunshine as we go on, but it’ll be short-lived as clouds increase again ahead of a much more vigorous system. This one will take a similar track to the one that gave us some snow, however the area is transfers its energy to will dash any hope for some wintry precip in the NYC/LI region.
SATELLITE
Rain showers are coming to an end as I type this and we should see some clearing as time goes on. How much sunshine we get will dictate how high we go as far as temps. I’m calling for 55-60 degree temps, but a few places may crack 60 with some extra sunshine.
We increase the clouds again tomorrow, with the chance of some rain by later in the afternoon. Best chance for a steady, soaking rain will be overnight. Highs near 45 will ensure this is all rain, plus we could see hear some rumbles and have heavier pockets of rain as the primary low transfers its energy almost right over us. Expect some ponding and flooding in poor drainage areas with up to 2″ of rain, possibly even a touch more.
WEATHER RADAR
We’ll have some leftover showers early Saturday, then partial clearing will ensue. Highs will be 45-50 depending on the sunshine and when we begin to clear.
Sunday is a peaceful day with dry conditions, sunny skies, and highs near 50.
We have a fairly quiet week next week with nothing major to speak of. We’ll start out with sunshine and near 50 temps through Wednesday, then we may cool off a bit and have some extra clouds as the maritime influence tries to back its way in.
