NYC SUNDAY BREAK FROM TROPICAL AIRMASS – Good late morning everyone. Tropical skies and air dominate NYC today and we’ll have a short break for the second part of the weekend before the goo returns.

As for today, high dew points, puffy clouds, and the chance of a thunderstorm will help keep the deep south feel in our area; highs in the mid 80’s. Tomorrow, we bump the humidity and temps up a notch as we wait for a weak cold front to transit the area. We’ll have the slight chance of some strong to severe storms, but right now my spidey sense says we have some energy go to our north, and some go to our south; leaving us with very little chance for anything widespread or long in duration. Highs tomorrow 85-90 and muggy.

Saturday will bring clouds and sun, slight chance of some scattered showers (don’t cancel any plans), highs in the mid 80’s. We dry things out overnight Saturday to make for a beautiful day on Sunday. Expect sunny skies, relatively lower humidity, and highs in the mid 80’s.

Trekking into next week, the muggy, humid, moist air returns on Monday. We’ll snap back into the pattern of tropical air, tropical skies, and the chance of showers or storms each day with mid 80’s as highs. Depending on cloud cover and precip, we could notch those temps up higher late in the week, but nothing is solid yet as far as calling the ball for prolonged heat.

For your marine forecast, the best day to get out of the inlets will be on Sunday morning. We may kick up a breeze Sunday afternoon, so keep an eye on the water and return early if need be. Aside from Sunday, today through Saturday is looking snotty offshore, then Monday onward the chop returns. The bays are looking good aside from times when showers and storms may transit.
