NYC Typical Mid-March Pattern Coming Into Play

Good morning everyone. After some wintry weather yesterday and a parting shot of snow, we begin to quiet things down, step away from the early March pattern, and begin a very typical mid-March/early Spring pivot.

Sun fills the sky today, but cold air locked in place and stiff westerlies, will help give us a cold December day in the mid to upper 30’s. We don’t dip much tonight as lows hang out in the low to mid 30’s, a typical sign milder/modifying air is moving in.

Sunshine will continue tomorrow, but we’ll have a seasonable low to mid 50’s on our hands and lighter winds.

WEATHER RADAR

Tuesday and Wednesday we continue that sunshine, but pop up into he near 60 range for a seasonably mild treat. Clouds will increase on Thursday as low pressure skirts offshore, and we may get brushed with a few light showers.

Friday looks like a nice, mild day in the mid 60’s, but then we are watching another system and cooler temps for next weekend.

As I said, we are looking at typical mid-March, early spring weather, with a balance between mild temps, average temps, and a few shots of cooler air. We have no major systems on the immediate horizon, but with the passing of any larger “Great Lakes Runner”, don’t rule out a parting snow shower, flurry, or mushy mix. I’m leaving that in there in case any trolls want to nitpick and complain that a snowflake saw a snowflake.
