NYC Unsettled & Showery Week

Good morning everyone. Even though we have a cloudy start today, sunshine returns for our coldest day of the week. You can kiss the cold goodbye after today, but it comes at a cost in the form of some unsettled and mostly cloudy weather for the entire week into the weekend. Some mild air could sneak in, but at least in the short-range, I don’t see anything outrageous or newsworthy.

For today, clouds decrease and it is a cold one. Look for highs in the upper 20’s to low 30’s at best. Clouds move back in tonight, and we could see some wet flakes or rain & snow mix tomorrow briefly before changing to a cold rain. On spots that are still covered with snow, we could see a dusting to a 1/2″ before the changeover; especially N&W of NYC. Highs tomorrow near 40 will ensure that this is a primarily rain event.

WEATHER RADAR

Clouds stick around Wednesday with the slight chance of some scattered showers. Things start creeping up temp-wise as highs reach the mid to upper 40’s. We’ll have more clouds and widely scattered showers Thursday, with highs in the mid to upper 50’s. More scattered showers are possible Friday, and we take a step back with highs in the 45-50 range.

For your weekend, look for more clouds than sun with highs 55-60. We’ll have a better chance of nearing or breaking 60 if we get a few breaks in the clouds. During the following week, spring tries to break out and bring some 65-70 degree temps, but the best locations to experience it, will be west of the NYC area.
