NYC Very Hot Weather Arrives More Severe Weather Possible
Good morning everyone. We take a breather today in terms of severe weather, allowing those impacted yesterday some time to clean up. However, we’ll be in the zone again tomorrow afternoon and will have the watch the radar closely. 95-100 degree temps and high humidity tomorrow will give the atmosphere enough fuel to spark off some good stuff, but where will be the question. Those storms won’t help break the heat as we expect another extremely hot one on Friday, then thunderstorms Saturday will be the ones to break the heatwave. It’ll still be hot on Saturday, but Sunday looks comfortably warm with relatively low humidity.
SATELLITE
For today, there will be no storms in the forecast. We have a calm day, bright sunshine, and hot temps. Highs will peak in the 90-95 range.
The humidity tomorrow will be much more noticeable and we should hold onto sunshine for most of the day. We’ll have highs in the 95-100 range, with some spots possibly surpassing 100. That’ll provide enough juice to pop some severe weather to our west and northwest. Once they get “tall” enough, we’ll have to watch closely to see which way they move and if they survive the trip. Anything we do get, will probably reach severe limits. Look for frequent lightning, torrential rain, damaging winds, hail, and the possibility of an isolated tornado.
WEATHER RADAR
Those storms do nothing to break the heat as we go for 95-100 again of Friday with muggy conditions. We do have the chance of a PM storm, but the action will be more scattered in variety and mostly inland.
Saturday will be interesting as far as thunderstorms. With an approaching cold front, we could see more widespread severe weather as a more defined line develops and takes up more real estate. Regardless, we still go for mid 90’s on Saturday until relief arrives. Again, Sunday is looking perfect with sunshine, breezy conditions, and highs in the low to mid 80’s.
